What’s the Challenge?

  • Who: Open to students in Grades 9–12 across Hampton Roads and Virginia’s Eastern Shore

  • What: Spend a day living without single-use plastics, document your experience, and create an inspiring 1-2 minute video.

  • Why: Educate your peers, motivate your community, and show how small actions can lead to big changes!

Why Participate?

  • Make a Difference: Spread awareness about reducing single-use plastics.

  • Showcase Your Work: All participating videos will be shared on social media for the community to see.

  • Win Big: Winning videos will be featured at the Virginia Marine Debris Summit in March. Plus, winners will take home cash prizes and eco-friendly goodies!

How to Enter

  1. Spend a full day without using any single-use plastics.

  2. Capture your day through video, focusing on your experiences, challenges, and creative solutions.

  3. Compile your footage into a 1-2 minute video that’s educational, creative, and inspiring.

  4. Submit your video (link and submission details below).
